Here at my KidsEye view we are big fans of sunshine, Popsicles, swimming pools, barbeques, and pretty much anything generally associated with summer.
Summer also means school is out, and as you probably know, running around to all of the fun stuff in the area means being in the car A LOT.
So for those days when you are too far from home and the kids have a craving, or an accident, or a meltdown, there are a few things that might be good to pack in your trunk. Not all will be applicable but this list should get you started. We want to hear your ideas for what you like to keep handy too!
An extra pair of clothes, and underwear.
A fleece pullover or jacket.
Extra pair of socks (think playland germs and bowling shoes)
Umbrella
Cooler with snacks and juice boxes (some like to freeze capri suns ahead of time). Frozen go-gurts. We have recently fallen in love with frozen Fruit Chillers, made by DelMonte. Yummy and good way of sneaking in some real fruit.
Water bottles-or even one empty water bottle to fill up.
A Towel for you never know what.
Plastic grocery bags for you never know what. (You know what we mean)
Sunscreen/Insect Repellant
Keep busy quiet stuff for kids to do, for long rides when you don’t want them to fall asleep or they are fighting and/or you are waiting at the Dr.’s office.
A lollipop or two for those times when you really need a bribe.
A picnic blanket

We have been working on compiling this list for many, many months and are finally publishing it for you to see!  You may or may not know, but there are companies out there that will give you all sorts of free stuff on your {and your childs’} birthday!

Today we are spotlighting some fun lists of indoor activities for those days when, well, it’s too much effort to bundle up and take the kids to an event around town!  We have had a few of those days lately.

Esther from Babyccino Kids wrote this great list for The Mother Huddle.  Check it out HERE. Our favorites are the painted bus and the fashion show.
