Ongoing~Sunflower Market Kids Club

Next Kids Club is on July 27th at 6pm!

For the kids Club, they request that you to go in register ahead of time so that they know how many to expect. You should be able to call if you can’t go in person to register.

If you haven’t taken a trip to Sunflower Market (in Murray and Orem), drop your mouse and go now!!! No, but we are firm believers in this cute little–kid friendly–small town feelin’—Trader Jo’s–ish kind of place!

They have excellent produce and meat, plus lot’s of stuff you would find at a natural food store for lower prices. Their weekly ad always has a few amazing deals to get you in the door. And if you can withstand the temptation to buy much else, you will have saved a ton of money!

But wait there’s more! The people that work there are actually friendly and happy to help you. Plus they have this really great kids club, which happens to be the reason we are telling you about this in the first place.

Occasionally on Saturdays they have special events, and after disappearing for a few months, Kids Club is returning in January! On most 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, generally from 6-7 pm, they have fun little classes for kids that range from scavenger hunts throughout the store, to crafts upstairs. They usually get awesome samples too! Plus, once your kids are members, everytime you check out they can pick a little treasure out of the treasure chest at the register! So you have built in good behavior bribery. These classes are first come first serve, as they no longer do sign ups ahead of time.

Oh and on Wednesdays, the ads from the both weeks overlap, so you can get double deals!

*New* The previous list that we posted was for Granite and Salt Lake School Districts only. Here is a list of the Schools that participated last year in the Jordan School District. This information was found on the Pinching your Pennies forums, please let us know if anything needs to be corrected, but for the most part, information is the same from year to year.

Granite and Salt Lake School Districts:

Parks all around the Salt Lake Valley will begin participating in the free summer school lunch program on June 9th. This national program is designed to make sure that children have access to a healthy lunch, even when school is not in session. All children under 18 are eligible, regardless of where they live, and they do not need to be school aged.

Lunch comes in paper bags Monday through Friday and can be eaten picnic style anywhere in the park, but not taken out of the premises. The most popular parks run out, so you may want to get there early. Adults can bring lunch from home if they like.

Times vary, and some parks even offer breakfast.

Ongoing~Putting Report Cards To Good Use!

Many people don’t know that you cash report cards in for some family fun! Here’s the scoop, keep in mind, however, while Chuck E Cheese is a sure deal, it’s a good idea to call ahead on the others before going.

Chuck E Cheese- Get 10 free tokens for bringing on your report card. It used to be they would give you a certain amount for each A, B, etc. Now they just look at it, make a little initial on the back, and give your child the tokens. Remember that Chuck E Cheese is free to enter and there is no obligation to buy food, so add a few more dollars worth of tokens, and it really can be an inexpensive place to take your kids!

Boondocks Fun Center- Will also give you tokens for report cards, when we went we got about 10 tokens plus an attraction token!

McDonald’s - If your child has a straight “A” report card, he/she can receive a FREE Happy Meal. Participating restaurants only?

Pizza Hut - Each marking period, any child who has 3 A’s or the equivalent thereof, will receive one Personal Pan Pizza and a small soft drink or carton of milk by presenting his or her report card to the manager. This offer is good for Elementary and Middle School students. Dine-in only. Student must be present and the original report card must be presented. Available at participating locations.

Krispy Kreme – Get a free donut for each A (up to 6 A’s).

Chick-fil-A - Bring in your all A’s and B’s report card and receive a FREE 8 pack nuggets! Call ahead to your location to see if they are participating.

Ongoing~Red Robin Burgers for Bikes Deal

Here’s a fun way to do some service and get a free burger! Bring a new or used bike to any Red Robin in Utah (except St. George) between 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and you will get a coupon for a free burger and bottomless fries on your next visit!

Red Robin will then fix the bikes up and donate them to local children in your area!

You may want to call before heading out, to make sure your location is participating.

Through May 23rd~Super Kid Contest at Red Robin Restaurants

Every Tuesday morning from 10:00-10:30 they have story time and coloring!

Then Wednesdays nights is Family Night

We hear there may even be a visit from the cow mascot!

Ikea has some great deals at their in-house restaurant every Monday and Tuesday.

Monday is Family Pasta Night! Enjoy all-you-can-eat pasta with marinara sauce for only $1.99 from 4:00 pm to 8pm. Plus, they even have live entertainment from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

Tuesdays is Meatball Night! The delicious swedish meatballs that Ikea is famous for is only 1/2 price. A 15 meatball plate, along with mashed potatoes and cream sauce is only $2.49 from 4 pm to close every Tuesday.
