The Salt Lake Astronomical Society (a non-profit group here in SLC) hosts several Star Parties throughout the valley that are free and open to the public.  Anyone is invited to come observe, ask questions, and telescopes are provided.

The Krishna Temple invites the public to experience Indian culture and customs. The party celebrates Appearance Day, a holiday for Hindus that compares to Christmas Day for Christians. Festivities include classical Indian dance, drama, hot meals, live music, and exhibits.
