My Kids’ Eye View was born out of a love for all things free or cheap and…FUN!!!

 

When we moved to Salt Lake City 5 years ago, we were amazed at how much the city offered in terms of good old fashioned family fun. So we started doing a little more investigating and soon became the “go to” source for things to do. We are still slightly obsessed with searching out and having fun with our kids, but at least now it’s helping others get out there too!

 

We didn’t set out to copy what is already online, in fact there are a lot of great websites with good information about living frugally, or local events in general. Feel free to browse from the resource websites on the side bar (coming soon!). But until now, there hasn’t been a resource that specialized in events that are family friendly, that ALSO happen to not hurt your budget.

We’ll tell you what we’ve tried and how we liked it, and we invite you to share your experiences as well. If you have an event you think we should highlight, please contact us, and we will be sure to post it. Please leave us a comment if you have an additional tip or anything nice to say! We love comments from our readers!

Here you can get events directly to your email inbox or to your feed reader! Please remember if you do grant us permission to email you, we will never sell or give away your email to others.

Below this is our new blog button! Grab it and post it on your blog if you wish to help us spread the word about this resource! Thanks in advance for doing this ;)

The main content or “meat and potatoes” of the blog, is in the center column where we will have a feature post and then the current events right below it. We will now continue to display past events but they will be marked so that you know they are over. We try to post a little something on a daily basis, and on Thursday mornings we post the Weekend Update which will have all the cool stuff going on in the next three days (or more if it’s a Holiday weekend).

On the Right Sidebar:

This “tag cloud” is going to be another great way for you to navigate through all of the events. See something that interests you and one click will take you to every post surrounding that topic. Easy as that! Ongoing Events are listed here too, so browse those for anything that is going on for a bit longer than a few days.

That’s pretty much it, but we do have a few more things up our sleeve, like a page for all Daily Events (such as storytimes, etc) and a fully functioning calendar (we promise we are working hard on this) and more!
